Hi, I'm Heather.

Dedicated, conscientous and pretty darn funny.

Known for an honest and natural style of portrait photography.

My name is Heather Davidson-Meyn (pronounced ‘Mine’) and I’m the Head Memory-Preserver at Heather Davidson Portrait Photography.

I became a professional Portrait Photographer around the same time I became a mom – circa 2009 (yes, that means I have teenagers!!)

Creating portraits – images of people at their most beautiful inside and out – has been my unwavering focus over the years, and my specialties are creating:

  • family and child portraits showing the fun and the love and connections between parent and child, and
  • headshots and portraits that help people showcase their ‘business side’ and their brand.

My superpower

My superpower is nailing those real moments, making you relax and laugh in front of the camera, and making you look great. Don’t be surprised if I crack a joke right out of the gates! (Don’t take MY word for it, though…)

I’m best known for my natural, honest and timeless style and my mix of candid and ‘everyone smiling at the camera’ portraits. I’m also known for guiding families through the process of making sure your photo memories live forever in print, and not just as digital files on your phone.

Where and What Else?

I started in, and still serve, Toronto, Canada, though recently I’ve also been spending a lot of time in Haliburton, Ontario’s cottage country and I offer services there too. You’ll see images in my portfolio from around the world – I worked for some years while living in Europe and serving a very international clientele!

I was born in Kelowna, B.C., studied in Guelph, and went through many iterations of myself before landing in photography as a profession. There was the intrepid-traveller-me (77 countries to date!), the engineer-me, the bike-racing-me (still riding-obsessed!), the scuba-diver-and-snowboarder-me, and now there is the mom-me, the me-dedicated-to-lifelong-health-and-wellness, and the photographer-me.

Accolades

The photographer-me has always been in there, but only since beginning to work professionally in the field have I gained the courage and confidence to go after and succeed in earning many awards, accreditations and designations. (See for yourself here.)

I’m not just about badges, seals and ribbons though – Since 2009 I’ve photographed hundreds of families, thousands of school children and dozens of intrepid entrepreneurs and corporate team members from all sorts of countries.

Me

My friends describe me as dedicated, conscientious, funny and kind, while my daughter thinks I’m the most amazing mom ever (awwww…). My teenage son refuses to describe me for fear of recrimination.

Oh, and yes, what would an About page be if it didn’t tell you that I love coffee?
